What’s the most jaw-dropping or nonsensical fashion “rule” you’ve heard in your life? The other day on Instagram I posted about some of my favorite, ridiculous rules I’ve picked up over the years and I also had y’all input your (least) favorites as well. Read on to see what made the list of crazy clothing or beauty guidelines that we need to leave behind as we enter the new roaring 20s here!
I opted to try a new treatment (for me + my hair) to smooth my hair in preparation for an upcoming holiday party. My hair is crazy long and thick, which has made prepping it for parties so difficult and time-consuming in the past. I've tried a Brazilian blowout in college, but lately have been quite curious about keratin treatments for my hair type.
I also have been loving embracing fashion again as a passion in my life. To celebrate this Thanksgiving in style, I found 3 distinct, fun, and affordable looks! I can’t wait to share these beauties — so let’s go, scroll on, and see what Target had in store for me for this Thanksgiving.
Everything will be a process and require growth and change. You will not be a changed person because of doing a breathing exercise 1x.
But what if you try treating your body and mind like a home or a car — something requiring consistent care and maintenance? What if you applied self-care activities often enough to actually feel that change in your mindset towards how you treat yourself? That. That could be life changing.
Time to rework the wardrobe, y’all! This week we are covering how to approach organizing one of the most important zones in your home -- your closet.
To start, if you're staring at your screen saying "but WHY go through an entire closet when there are a million better things to do other than that crap?" Well, new friend, my answer would be:
So, if I've hopefully piqued your interest enough, go ahead and read on for tips and methods you can use for your own space!
Some brands capture our heart due to style, some due to their sizing. Whatever the reason may be, we all want a good deal on our favorite brands. I personally *love* Madewell and Free People — and actively seek them out at lower prices than normal retail price. So where exactly do I go to do that...? Read on to find out!
Personally I’ve never felt like vanity sizing by brands did me any favors... until shopping Free People last weekend with my hubby now that I fall more on the plus size side of body types at a 14/16 . FP sizing varies so much depending on what item and how the brand customized it individually to fit. Especially when it comes to their more oversized style pieces and “basics” like tees or sweaters, there are options still for sure at my size. Thus, it feels like I‘m capable of still shopping at one of my favorite stores when I *technically* don’t match their sizing chart any longer. Let me break down how I tackle finding new looks for a curvy shape from a straight size store. Note: I purchased a Large or X-Large in everything I got that day and it all fit pretty well.
I'd love to share more looks with y'all and would love to try tackling another brand -- if you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to reach out on Instagram @thekeybykate or on here in the comment section below.
Thanks for checking out how this curvy girl went to Free People and found some key Fall pieces!
