This weekend I’d love to dive a little deeper into textiles - specifically the ones we see on fabric content tags when we wash clothes or check fabric content or style numbers.
So what will we be covering?
I must confess, I adore making tables, charts, spreadsheets, and study guides. It makes my heart happy to see the organization and to learn so much more efficiently. I wanted a way to convey some important information about fabric fibers we see often in apparel sales (especially reselling where we list fabric contents daily) - so here we have this table of fibers, origins, usages, and traits in one easy to download image.
Want a further breakdown of fiber by traits? Here's a cool chart I made based off my textbook's table. Its helpful for grouping like fibers by common qualities.
Now the next time your customer asks you about what the cotton is like for a summer top, you could say the fiber is known for high durability and high comfort in clothing, especially for warm weather items. A little extra learning goes a long way in sales!
